BNR Trax is gassed to introduce the dynamic duo of American-born Berlin-based Alex Wilcox and Toronto’s Chippy Nonstop. Their collaboration on the upcoming EP, ‘I Did That’ delivers a whirlwind of creative energy perfectly suited for the Boys Noize sub-label.
After meeting in Paris and hitting it off, Alex and Chippy knew they had to get in the studio together. With Alex behind beats and Chippy behind the mic, their chemistry is undeniable. Chippy’s carefree attitude pushed Alex to explore new realms of rap and music.
In the video for the EP, Alex teams up with Doberman to create stunning visuals that perfectly capture the essence of the music. Long shots, building progression, and a sense of exploration all come together to create a masterpiece.
Alex’s journey from the rock scenes in the US to the techno mecca of Berlin is evident in his music. After moving to Detroit Alex soon released his debut album that caught the attention of industry heavyweights like Anetha to discover his sizzling banger “Sleep Paralysis” which led to a release on her Mama Told Ya imprint. Under the wing of the UR legend Mike Banks, Alex honed his craft, and his skill in production continued to grow, bringing him to release on Ellen Alien’s UFO, and Nina Kravitz’ Trip, alongside gigging all around the world. His unique sound, blending his punk rock aura with a techno mentality has taken him all over the world and solidified his place in the electronic music scene.
His four-tracker on Boys Noize sub-label BNR TRAX featuring vocals from Chippy Nonstop lands at a perfect moment as Alex continues to explore adding live vocals to his DJ sets turning them into more of a live experience described as a chaotic whirlwind involving hard cuts, numerous BPM changes, existential theatrical moments, and a punk rock mentality.
