Based in London via Tel Aviv and Latvia, artist Anna Lann spans locations as she does mediums, working with music, sound design, visuals and performance in both fine art and commercial contexts. While the digital age has facilitated the kind of boundless practice Lann embodies, ever-expanding possibilities come with ever-encroaching technologies. Since its inception in the Black community of a de-industrializing Detroit, techno has expressed the fraught relationship between machines and humanity, and it is fitting for Anna Lann to choose the medium of techno for her “Saint Laser” EP on Boysnoize Records.
